Bookings are now open for the 2019 season of National Theatre Live, when two gripping political dramas performed at leading UK theatres will screen at Cinema Nouveau: Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Richard the Second, followed by David Hare’s I’m Not Running.
The Tragedy of King Richard the Second stars Olivier Award-winner Simon Russell Beale as Richard II, the vain, foolish King of England whose weak leadership sends his kingdom into disarray and his court into uproar. Catch this critically acclaimed production from London’s Almeida Theatre at Cinema Nouveau theatres nationwide, and Gateway Commercial in Durban on the 23rd February.
Next up, contemporary political dramatist David Hare’s new play, I’m Not Running stars Siân Brooke as Pauline Gibson, the leader of a local health campaign who is faced with an agonising decision when she crosses paths with her old boyfriend, a stalwart loyalist in Labour Party politics. I’m Not Running is performed at London’s National Theatre and will screen at Cinema Nouveau nationwide and Gateway Commercial Durban on 16 March 2019.
